We live in a time where everything can be easily and quickly captured. Everyone has a phone with a camera. And yet, a meaningful memory is harder to hold than ever.
What if your phone stopped working tomorrow? And all backup you have (the cloud, the servers, every piece of technology you trusted) crashed too.
All of it gone. Every photo, every video, every moment you meant to do something with. The baby's first smile, the trip with your friends that felt perfect, the photos of people who you love. We trust our memories to devices and clouds without thinking twice but storing is not the same as keeping. A photo buried in a folder of thousands is not a memory, it's just a file.

How it started
It started, like so many things, with a baby.
When MEMOA's founder had her first child, she wanted to hold onto everything. She got a beautiful first-year baby book to preserve those memories as a keepsake. But the predefined chapters and limited space felt restrictive, and every word written on the page felt permanent. There was pressure to get it right, to avoid mistakes, and to write neatly enough that she wouldn't regret it later. So she postponed it again and again.
The book didn't always reflect her experience. Some milestones felt unimportant, while others made her feel guilty for not remembering exactly when they happened. Some of the moments she wanted to remember most barely had room to be told in more than a few words.
Adding photographs meant printing, trimming, and gluing them into place - a process that felt both time-consuming and fragile.
The problem wasn't her memories. The problem was trying to fit them into a format that wasn't built for them.
MEMOA was created as an alternative: a space that adapts to your story, not one that asks your story to adapt to it. A place where memories can grow, evolve, and be preserved beautifully - without the pressure of perfection from the start.
